Interesting List. It encompasses a variety of novels that discuss many different topics. Although I have not read every title on your list, the ones that I have read I concur are excellent book. Two on your list stand out to me in particular. These two are Things Fall Apart and Why I Love Black Women. Things Fall Apart is by far one of the best books, and if I had a list it would more than likely be listed lower than #9. Initially read as a class assignment in grade school, it has stuck with me since and I have reread it several other times. Why I Love Black Women is great also. This book represents and portrays the strength of the Black Women, which is something constantly overlooked in today's society. "It is undeniable that we live in a society that has failed to acknowledge the full extent of our debt to black women's gift" (Dyson, 2003). As a black women, it reiterates my worth and who doesn't want to feel important LoL. That's why I enjoyed it so much.
ReplyDeleteInvisible Man and Things Fall Apart are on my top 10 list mos def. anything by Malcolm Gladwell(Blink, Outliers, Tipping Point..etc.) also 'Celesting Prophecy by James Redfield is on there too..(It's also on Hov's top 10 too) #nostunto
